Elemental Gaze - unperfect sky
frankly, "love your love, death your love"
is embarrassing from its name to poor production,
but the title track and alternate version
more than make up for this gross shortcoming.
plus, i like to keep this blog diverse
in quality, frequency and origins
(this band is from indonesia, and i am an erratic mess.)

July Skies - The Weather Clock
(clearly keeping close to the theme of the previous entry)
every night in order to fall asleep,
i do one of a few things:
listen to cnet tech shows
or listen to music.
as i have said before on this blog,
july skies are absolutely amazing.
i will never tire of them,
even if i do frequently drift out of the day
alongside their melancholic melodies.

Akira Kosemura - Grassland
today in class, my professor asked us
to write down a question regarding one of our hobbies
and it occurred to me that my (healthiest) interests have devolved
into watching tv and sleeping.
so this post is a gentle embrace
of my newly realized absolute lack of personality.
that being said, grassland is genuinely beautiful,
albeit in the most generic of ways.

BEST COAST - MAKE YOU MINE 7"
first and foremost,
wegmans vanilla soy milk
is divine.
i seriously still cannot bring myself
to do anything in this world.
instead, i will listen to lofi pop
and say things like
"oh baby" & "call me sweet thing."
drat, i forgot to mention
that this ep is fantastic.
and thank god, because tonight's
episode of the real world was such
a let down. BUMMER.
third edit:
i wanted to post a link to
the special bonus track that was
made available to those who purchased online.
i really need to get it together already.

Graf Orlock - Destination: Time Yesterday
graf orlock rules.
i was walking home today
in the blistering cold
and was passed by a couple holding
hands and kissing.
how can a pair of humans
walk and do all of that at once?
it boggles my mind
to what great lengths
people will go
to offend me.
because obviously,
their pda was a direct
attack upon my sensibilities.

Clear Horizon - st
i am so tired,
but these terrible dreams
continue to plague me.
this album is fantastic.
jessica bailiff 's
haunting voice
drifts through the cold soundscapes
like the ghost of my motivation.
rip. right.

Amesoeurs - ST
this gorgeous album
could be considered black metal
in the same way that Alcest
might be considered such.
in other words,
amesoeurs straddle
shoegaze and the previously
mentioned genre
with magnificent grace.
incidentally, this french band
includes Neige of alcest,
but the addition of a female
vocalist makes for
a unique, dare i say, upgrade
to Neige's black/gaze formula.
audrey has an enchanting voice
which wonderfully compliments
the throaty shrieks of neige.
that being said,
i would have liked to see
more interplay between
the two vocal elements.

Fen - The Malediction Fields
today,
i was sitting alone
in a pizzeria.
and naturally,
i had to play out in my head
the various social
situations that may
arise.
in one of these scenarios,
someone asked me why
i was alone.
i responded,
"friends are for the weak"
and continued to eat.
however,
i am weak.
and obsessive.
i can only hope
to have a full night
of television.
i need to stop
looking for external
reasons to improve.
but anyways,
this album is great.
super atmospheric,
full of anguish
and beauty.
tyler, you will
hate me for this post.
