small town boredom - Autumn Might Have Hope
This is one of my favorite
recently released slowcore albums.
It is consistently sad, exhausted
and devastated, unlike many
other slowcore albums which
have at least one reasonably
upbeat track.
those tracks are lame.
Unfortunately,
while this band excels
in delivering what the genre
calls for; unwavering sadness, their vocals
are at times a bit irritating.
one of the fellows sounds
almost bob dylan-esque
(blech. that in of itself
is reason enough to be
clinically depressed.
bob dylan is seriously horrible.
horrible.)

The Tumbled Sea - Melody Summer
I ought to be in bed.
I wish that I were in bed.
The tumbled sea offers the next best thing:
a lush body of ambient piano
to hold close, lulling the
heaviest of hearts into a beautiful warmth,
despite the changing of seasons
and people.
ps.my rapid stream of posts is a clear
indication that i am spending
entirely too much time on the internet

Veronica Lake - Discography
Sometimes, nothing can compare
to the humble honesty of
lofi pop. It is quite a comfort
hiding in the transparent
blanket away from the
synthetic polish of overproduction.
Sometimes, heartfelt lofi is the only
breath of truth available
in a school so overwhelmingly
fake.
(that being said,
some of these tracks
are quite well produced.
poof.)

Mineral - End Serenading
Hopefully, you already have
this essential album
(and their debut, power of failing),
but if you are like my dear friend tk
and have for whatever reason,
been unable to get your
needy hands upon this,
please do not waste another
needy moment.
I don't care what All Music says,
this album rules and always will.

Lake Heartbeat - Trust in Numbers
At least I have Lake Heartbeat:
soft swedish dance pop
for the broken hearted.
what a gem.
i only hope that its sunny
shining rays of unrequited
pop romance can blind me from
the lack of romance in my life.
but seriously, this album
easily eclipses
The Empire of the Sun

Daitro - Y
Needless to say, I have been
overwhelmingly lazy as of late
and as a result have stopped posting.
Today, that clearly has changed.
However, I am not going to bother
even maintaining a shred
of professionalism
in this blog because that is
boring and I don't really care anyway.
and Daitro is awesome.
